Congratulations to the 2012 Sophomore Orange team on their win over Pearland April 27. The win made them 12-2 in district and 23-3 overall for the season. It also made them the undisputed district champs! Way to go boys!

Alvin High School Baseball 2012 Sophomore Team

Mickey Mantle tryouts for Alvin High School incoming freshmen are scheduled for May 9th at 6:00 p.m. at Nolan Ryan Field at Alvin High School.

All interested players should be at the field ready to participate by 6:00 p.m. dressed in proper baseball attire, including cap. Players should bring their own baseball equipment, including bat, glove, batting helmet, and catcher’s gear, if applicable.

Parents are encouraged to attend a discussion by Coach Rogers at the end of the tryout.

Mike Rogers coaching his 498th win

February 24^th at the Pearland First Pitch tournament, Alvin High School defeated Cy-Falls. The win gave Alvin Head Coach Mike Rogers his 500^th win.

Rogers is a veteran coach of 31 years is in his 10 year at Alvin High School. The Yellowjackets are currently 11-4 and begin district play Tuesday, March 13.
